eero Plus re-design
Overview
As the Lead UX Designer on eero Plus, I've designed and helped launch most of the subscription's features and integrations. In 2024, I've been responsible for the re-brand of the subscription and redesign of the end-to-end experience (how customers discover, subscribe to, and engage with features in the app).
Success Metrics
The new in-app experience drove a 157% increase in in-app activations in the first month and 84% in the first 4 months.
What is eero Plus?
eero Plus is a subscription that adds security, privacy features, and extra tools like antivirus, password management, and identity protection to your eero network.
Problem & Solution
Although eero Plus was available via the app, website, and partner ISPs, the in-app experience did not clearly communicate its value, resulting in low activation rates and high cancellations.
To address this, I led a comprehensive redesign of the eero Plus experience within the app. I assessed all existing entry points for learning about the subscription, activating it, and engaging with its features. I also conducted competitive analysis to identify best practices used by other subscription-based platforms.
Drawing from these insights, I designed a new system for promoting eero Plus and surfacing its features within the app. This system was built to be modular and is now also used to white-label our solution for Internet Service Providers.
Post-launch, I tracked user engagement metrics to measure impact and iterated on the experience to improve conversion and simplify the activation flow. These changes resulted in a clearer, more effective subscription experience.
